You’ve had months to clean out all your file cabinets, now you’re wondering what to do with all that paper? CalRes has a shredding solution for you! We are hosting a free community document shred event. Bring up to 5 personal file boxes of documents to our office on Saturday August 15 from 9:00-11:00. AARP has a great article about what to shred and what to keep. Consumer Reports has recommendations on how long to keep tax documents. All shredding is onsite at our location, you can watch them load it into the truck shredder! We ask that you follow all Covid precautions. If you’d like help unloading, pull up, pop your trunk, and we will take it from there!
We love to pass along a good deal. With schools closed throughout San Diego, students will need all the reading options they can get, and The San Diego Council on Literacy helps fill those gaps with a special deal on a 2-year subscription to the San Diego Union Tribune. Here’s a link to the order form
The Draft Veterans Memorial Park Master Plan is now available on the city’s website. The plan was developed based on public input gathered at various points throughout the master planning process. Veterans Memorial Park will be located on 91.5 acres, near the intersection of Faraday Avenue and Cannon Road.
The park will be physically separated into two distinct areas (north and south) which transition through passive uses and open space to a prominent memorial element at the high point of the site. A summary of the park features is provided on the project webpage. Draft design concepts and plans for the park’s four-acre family-oriented bike park, perimeter hiking trail and buildings can also be found there.
