Carlsbad news you can use for March 2020

Welcome March 2020,

Are you ready to Spring forward for Daylight Savings this weekend (Sunday March 8th)?  We are!  We look forward to the long sunny evenings, beautiful blooms in the Flower Fields (they are OPEN!) and a little March mischief.

Habitat for Humanity & Bunco – that’s how we roll…

CalRes Cares is participating in the Habitat for Humanity Women Build on Thursday May7th.  It’s our 3rd year supporting this worthwhile non- profit and we would love for you to support us. Click here to visit our fundraising page.  We are fundraising for this event by asking for direct donations as well as hosting fundraising Bunco nights at our office.   CalRes Cares will be hosting Bunco on Wednesday March 18th @ 6pm and again on Wednesday April 22 @ 6pm.  $20 suggested donation to play – we will provide the laughter, libations and perhaps a leprechaunJ  Please RSVP by email or by calling CalRes (760) 729-9922

How LOW can you go…

Interest rates are at a historical 29 year low. Spring into action and call your favorite CalRes Realtor® to help you purchase your next home!

Home Selling fact – well maintained homes sell faster and for more money!  If you are thinking of selling your home but don’t have the money to refresh your home with new paint, carpet, flooring – CalRes has a list of vendors that will work with you to be paid from escrow upon the sale of your home.   Call CalRes when you’re thinking of listing your home, we will walk through your home to make recommendations that will maximize your sales price and provide you with our list of recommended concierge vendors.

Recycle Right!

Have you noticed that Waste management is leaving notices on recycle bins? Or even worse, sending fines for non-recyclable items in recycle bins?  CalRes Residential Property Management team has noticed and is reminding tenants in HOA/condos as well as residential homes to be aware of what you can put in your recycle bin.  The #1 fine we are seeing is for putting plastic bags & contaminated items (food) in the recycle bin. For more information on what you can recycle – check out the Waste Management website for recycling tips.

Beach Bluff Safety

This article about our local beach bluffs getting some additional funding caught our eye.  We love our beaches here in North County and are so happy to see resources being allocated to make them safe.

Get Counted!

The 2020 Census kicks off next week, being counted can make a big difference for the future of our community.  The next 10 years of funding for our schools, plans for highways and support for firefighters is determined with the census.  Things like special education, classroom technology, teacher training, after school programs and school lunch assistance funding levels are determined with the census.  When you think of Carlsbad, you think of our great schools, please make sure you complete the 2020 Census.

You can respond to the 2020 census online, by phone or by mail.

Slow down & enjoy the ride

The City of Carlsbad has implemented traffic calming methods to help keep our traffic speed streets down. You may have noticed the speed pillows (wider than a speed bump) on several streets around town.  Thanks for slowing down and keeping our streets & kiddos safe.
