Carlsbad news you can use for December 2020

As 2020 finally comes to a close, and let’s face it, it was the longest year of our entire lives – December is a time to reflect back on the year and appreciate our health, family, community and business. 2020 has been an especially challenging year (homeschool anyone!) and we are so glad all of you are healthy and have continued on this adventure with CalRes.

Covid real estate has got everyone looking for a new Zoom Room, and we are so thankful you chose CalRes to help you.  We’ve had one of our busiest years with over 29 homes sold and 12 leases.  We look forward to helping more families buy, sell or lease their homes next year.  We’ve already got several new January home listings in our pipeline; we’d gladly help you too! We love what we do and think it shows.

CalRes is once again collecting coats for our ONE WARM COAT DRIVE. You are welcome to drop coats at the CalRes office (2691 State St) or give me a shout, We’d be happy to do a Covid safe porch pick up! (760) 805-2856 Last day for delivery/ pick up is December 21, 2020.

We are  making an extra effort to shop small this holiday season and thought we’d share some the locally owned small businesses we will be shopping at.

For the teenagers on your list:

Status Skate shop – located in the village, this local skate shop opened during one of the toughest times of all- during a pandemic.

Urban Skate Shop – Bressi Ranch

Rad E-Bikes – Ebikes are all over Carlsbad, Rad bikes are one of the top-rated e bikes.  Rad bikes are not local to Carlsbad, but they are local to my other hometown of Seattle!   Here’s a discount referral code from me for $50 off.

For the hungry kids on your list – you can never go wrong with a gift card for food.

Jersey Mikes – local owned franchise at Ralphs shopping center

Park 101 –  so much outdoor seating!

The Village Pie Shoppe – a Carlsbad institution.

Fresh Mango Charcuterie boards – order in advance and impress your family and friends.

For the campers and beachgoers

The Camp Store located at South Carlsbad State beach.  Locally owned with a refreshed outdoor patio this is the place to ride your e-bike down for a sunset and shop for local gear.

For the person that has everything

Carlsbad Education Foundation Grocery Gifts.   Since the start of the pandemic, Carlsbad Unified parents rallied and put together weekly food distributions for our local student families.  Families feeding families.  The $$ need continues, please consider a donation.

The small businesses CalRes support every day are so important.  Don’t forget that plumbers, painters, landscapers, electricians, termite mitigation, carpet cleaners, window washers, contractors, escrow, title, inspectors and REALTORS are all local small businesses that appreciate your support.   If you need a referral, we are happy to share their contact information.

Safely at your service,

#teamCalRes
