2020 Real Estate outlook
The New Year will start with very low inventory and decent demand. And, with rates projected to remain around 3.75% next year, the market will tilt further in favor of sellers. According to Zillow, San Diego is projected to have one of the hottest markets in the country.
The bottom line: a housing warm front has arrived in San Diego County, paving the way for a hot Spring Market in 2020. If you are thinking of buying or selling, let’s start the conversations now.
1031 Exchange
We’ve noticed an increase in our 1031 business at CalRes. For those of you not familiar with this term – The term 1031 Exchange is defined under section 1031 of the IRS Code. (1) To put it simply, this strategy allows an investor to “defer” paying capital gains taxes on an investment property when it is sold, as long another “like-kind property” is purchased with the profit gained by the sale of the first property. Warmth and Gratitude
A heartfelt thank you to everyone that gave coats to our December One Warm Coat drive. We collected 116 coats. We heard from some of the coat recipients and it brought tears to our eyes. The students from Markham Middle school in Watts CA were so happy. Some of them weren’t going to school because it was too cold to walk. You helped us make a difference, thank you.

This 🙌🏻 is what I’ve said about the business for years, 🔟 years to be exact. When CalRes was established, I was committed to being a boutique brokerage, the local expert, community resource. Now, a decade later, with the support of the BEST clients, colleagues & most importantly #teamcalres, we are proving to be mightier than ever. So, as we end 2019 : 25 homes sold, 30 single family homes managed including a 14 plex, I simply smile and say #bringiton2020 we are ready for another decade of success!
