Carlsbad news you can use for September 2020

Welcome to September and back to school.  School isn’t exactly like we’re used to, but the team at CalRes is making it all work. All of the “momprenuers” on the team have kids distance learning from kinder to college.  This new virtual digital world has all of us working hard and learning new things and finding ways to work together.  That is why we believe it’s more important than ever to support our schools and Carlsbad community during this time.  Here are a couple ways you can help too.

Please help with a tax donation at https://carlsbaded.org/grocery-gifts/.

Grocery Gifts is a family sponsored program for our CUSD families that are facing food insecurity.  Grocery Gifts helps over 300 CUSD students from 150 families each week.  Families pick up fresh produce, milk, bread, eggs, cheese and more.  This program is focused on helping Carlsbad Unified families.   Our families are so incredibly thankful for the community support during the unprecedented situation.  Grocery Gifts has committed to help families through the rest of this year and they need your help.

Jersey Mike’s is holding a Grand Opening Fundraiser to support Carlsbad Educational Foundation’s Grocery Gifts Program!  The new location at 7110 Avenida Encinas, Carlsbad in Pointsettia Village Center opens TODAY Wednesday, September 9th and the fundraiser will run until Sunday, September 13th.

Customers can mention the Fundraiser or present a special coupon and make a minimum $2 contribution to Carlsbad Educational Foundation’s Grocery Gifts Program in exchange for a regular sub.  100% of the money will be donated to the program!

The restaurant’s hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days a week.  You can contact this location directly at (760) 585-2150. Jersey Mikes owners have children in the Carlsbad Unified District and are proud to partner with Carlsbad Education Foundation to support families in our community.

#wewantyourblood

Stay tuned for more info.  CalRes & the Carlsbad Village Association are working on an October blood drive. We are still working out details with San Diego Blood Bank, but hope to have it around Halloween.  Who knows what trick or treating will look like, but someone always wants to suck your blood…-insert vampire laugh here –  bwaaahaahaa

#CalResshreds

Our first Cal Res community shred event was a huge success.  We enjoyed meeting new friends in our Carlsbad community.  Due to high demand, we will definitely be doing this again – maybe not on a super-hot day in August – but early 2021 for sure. Yowzah, it was HOT that day!

We are busier than EVER and are loving every minute of it.  We are team that does it all.  Humble brag, in 2019 we closed 32 transactions, as of this writing, we are at 36 transactions. Mind you, we were locked down for COVID for part of this year. Everyone on the CALRES team is actively working with multiple buyers on the hunt for their perfect dream home. If you are thinking of selling, we have buyers.  We will always make time for you, our friends and family.
